Sewa Parv 2025

  • It is a nationwide festival of service, creativity, and cultural pride.

  • Held on – 17th Sep to 2nd Oct.

  • Theme – “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang”.

  • Aim – To bring together communities, institutions, and individuals in a collective movement of Sewa (service), creativity, and cultural pride.

Social Issues

Unfair Trade Practices

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) imposes penalty of Rs 2 Lakh on Digital Age Retail Pvt. Ltd (FirstCry).

  • Issues – FirstCry displayed products with the representation “MRP inclusive of all taxes,” while at the checkout stage, an additional GST was levied on the discounted price.

  • Penalty for – Drip pricing, misleading advertisement and unfair trade practices.

  • Legal basis – Sections 10, 20 and 21 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Drip pricing

  • A dark pattern, which misled consumers about the final payable amount and undermined informed decision-making.

  • Guidelines under – Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023.

  • Legal basis – Rule 7(1)(e) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, which requires the total price, inclusive of all charges and taxes, to be displayed upfront.

Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board (ATAB)

Ministry of Ayush held a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of the Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board.

  • Established in – 2019.

  • Operating under – Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), by Ministry of Ayush.

  • Objective – To accredit Ayurveda training courses being conducted both within India and abroad, which does not fall under the purview of National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) Act 2020.

Department of Posts announces change in Inland Speed Post (Document) Tariff and introduces new features.

  • Introduced in – 1986, as a part of India Post’s modernization efforts.

Eat Right India (ERI) movement

  • Launched by – Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.

  • Aim – To protect the health of the people and the planet by transforming the food ecosystem of the country through a systems approach.

International Pharmaceutical Federation

  • It is the non-governmental global body representing over 4 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.

  • Established in – 1912.

  • Officially connected to – World Health Organisation.

  • Aim – To recognize the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare systems around the globe.
