Government Interventions & Policies

Medicine Delivery Service for Ex-Servicemen

  • Launched by – Department of Posts (DoP), in collaboration with Department of Ex-servicemen (DESW).

  • 1st piloted in – Delhi.

  • Medicines procured and packaged – Through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) Common Service Centre (CSC) stationed at ECHS polyclinics.

  • Logistics and delivery managed by – India Post’s trusted delivery network.

  • Aim – To facilitate the pickup, booking, transmission, and doorstep delivery of medicines that are not available at ECHS polyclinics under Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS).

  • Significance - The service will ensure timely and reliable delivery of medicines to ECHS beneficiaries.

  • It reaffirms India Post’s role as a trusted partner in nation-building and citizen welfare.

We Rise

  • We Rise Women Entrepreneurs Reimagining Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprises.

  • Initiated by – NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform and DP World.

  • Programme under – The aegis of WEP’s Award to Reward (ATR) initiative.

  • Aim – To help women entrepreneurs in India to scale their businesses globally through trade facilitation, mentorship, and strategic partnerships.

Women Entrepreneurship Platform

  • Incubated in – NITI Aayog in 2018 as an aggregator platform.

  • Transitioned into – A public-private partnership in 2022.

  • Aim – It serves as national aggregator to strengthen India’s women entrepreneurship ecosystem and make women-led development a reality.

  • With over 47 partners from the public and private sectors, WEP functions as an enabler.

  • Addressing six key ecosystem needs — Access to finance, market linkages, training and skilling, mentoring and networking, compliance and legal assistance, and business development services.

Award to Reward (ATR) initiative

  • Launched in – 2023.

  • Objectives –

    • To address specific needs of women entrepreneurs while celebrating their success stories.

    • To Institutionalises WEP’s partnership framework by bringing together ecosystem stakeholders.

    • To serves as a plug-and-play model fostering scalable collaborations and measurable impact.

9th anniversary of the Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik)

  • Celebrated by – Ministry of Civil Aviation.

  • Launched on – 21st October 2016

  • Established under – National Civil Aviation Policy.

  • Aim – To make air travel affordable and accessible to the common citizen.

Operation Fire Trail

  • Conducted by – Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in Nhava Sheva port.

  • Objective – To smash a sophisticated smuggling attempt involving the illegal import of Chinese-origin fireworks and firecrackers into India.

  • Restricted under – ITC (HS) Classification of the Foreign Trade Policy.

  • Valid licences from – Both the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) under the Explosives Rules, 2008.

Security

BY 528 (MAGDALA)

  • It is the 6th vessel in the series of 8 Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASW SWC).

  • Launched at – Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi.

  • Indigenously designed and built by – Cochin Shipyard Limited.

  • Features

    • It will Augment underwater domain awareness,

    • Anti-Submarine Warfare and Mine Laying capabilities,

    • Propelled by 3 Diesel Engine powered waterjets,

    • Equipped with role defining sensors such as a Hull Mounted Sonar and Low Frequency Variable Depth Sonar (LFVDS),

    • Firepower provided by state-of-the-art Torpedoes, Anti-Submarine Rockets, NSG-30 Gun & 12.7 mm SRCG.

2nd Edition of Indian Navy’s Biannual Commanders’ Conference 2025

  • Conducted by – Ministry of Defence.

  • Aim – To serves as a platform for close interaction with national leadership and bureaucrats, and fine tune Navy’s outlook towards mitigating multi-dimensional challenges in current geo-strategic environment.

Science

 “Communicate to Connect: Science for All”

  • It is a 2-day national workshop on science communication.

  • Held at – CSIR-IHBT, Palampur.

  • Inaugurated by – National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) with CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT).

  • Aim – To bring together leading scientists, communicators, and innovators to explore new strategies for science outreach and inclusive communication.

Miscellaneous

World Menopause Day

  • Observed annually on – 18th October.

  • Founded in – 2009, by International Menopause Society (IMS).

  • Aim – To raise awareness of menopause and improve the experience of women around the world.
