UN-GGIM-AP

It is one of the 5 regional committees of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
-
It is the apex inter-governmental mechanism for making joint decisions and setting directions with regard to the production, availability and use of geospatial information within national, regional and global policy frameworks.
-
Represents – National Geospatial Information Agencies of 56 countries in Asia and the Pacific region.
-
Aim – To address global challenges regarding the use of geospatial information, including in the development agendas, to serve as a body for global policymaking in the field of geospatial information management.

India–Brazil Joint Declaration

Recalling the Framework Agreement signed between India and MERCOSUR.

Aim – To strengthen relations and promote the expansion of trade in conformity with the rules and disciplines of WTO, they agreed that:

Significant share of bilateral trade to benefit from tariff preferences.

Cover both tariff and non-tariff issues related to trade and economic partnership.
-
Active participation of the private sector and other stakeholders to support the negotiation process should be promoted.
-
Parties should endeavour to conclude the negotiations within one year from the launch of negotiations.
-
Establishment of a technical dialogue between the Parties, including the holding of a meeting of the Joint Administration Committee created under Article 23 of the PTA.

Presented by – Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) during the World Standards Day 2025 celebration, organized by BIS.
