History, Art and Culture

3rd Edition of Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam 2025

  • It is a Carnatic Music Festival.
  • Held at – Vijayawada.
  • Organized by – Ministry of Tourism with Ministry of Culture, Sangeet Natak Academy.
  • Supported by – Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Department of Culture.
  • Theme – “Celebrating the Richness of Telugu Music Traditions”.
  • Aim – To strengthen the cultural identity of Andhra Pradesh, promote music tourism, support artisans and weavers, and position Vijayawada as a premier Carnatic music destination.

Handicrafts Awards

Hon’ble President of India to Confer the Handicrafts awards on 9th December 2025.

  • Announced by – Ministry of Textiles.
  • Aim – To honour distinguished master craftsperson for the years 2023 and 2024.
  • Integral part of – The National Handicrafts Week celebrations.

Shilp Guru Awards

  • It stands as the highest recognition in the Indian handicrafts sector.
  • Introduced in – 2002.
  • Objectives –
    • To celebrate artisans who have demonstrated exemplary mastery and innovation to their craft.
    • To ensure the continuation and evolution of India's diverse craft heritage.

National Handicrafts Week

  • Observed annually from – 8th to 14th December.
  • Objectives –
    • To serve as a tribute to India's artisans and celebrates the enduring cultural significance of handicrafts.
    • To enhance awareness, strengthening artisan livelihoods.
    • To promote the sector's socio-economic relevance in contemporary India.
  • Key activities – Exhibitions, thematic workshops, capacity-building programmes, craft demonstrations, panel discussions, outreach initiatives, and cultural performances.

Polity & Governance

Notary Portal

  • A dedicated platform for providing online services for the works related to the Notaries Act, 1952 and the Notaries Rules, 1956.
  • Aim – To provide an online interface between the Notaries and the Government for various services like submission of applications for appointment as Notaries,
    • Verification of eligibility for appointment as Notaries,
    • Issuance of digitally signed Certificate of Practice as a Notary,
    • Renewal of Certificate of Practice,
    • Change of practice area,
    • Submission of annual return etc.
  • It provides a faceless, paperless, transparent and efficient system.
  • Currently, only the module related to verification of documents and eligibility and issuance of digitally signed Certificate of Practice to the newly appointed Notaries is live.

Economy

Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP)

Recently, 9 additional Technology Centres established under TCSP.

  • Launched by – Ministry of MSME.
  • Fund allocation – Budget 2025-26.
  • Objectives –
    • Rapid absorption of latest technology.
    • Readily available skilled workforce.
    • Improved Competitiveness of MSMEs.
    • Promotion of Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
  • Specialized skill development programmes – In advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Internet of Things (IoT).

Environment

AI Enabled Intrusion Detection System

  • Deployed by – Indian Railways.
  • Distributed Acoustic System (DAS) – It is used for detecting presence of elephants on Railway tracks.
  • Implemented in – 141 RKms section on NF Railway and further tenders have been awarded for 981 RKms section of Indian Railways.
  • Aim – To generate alerts for loco pilots, station masters and Control Room about the movement of elephants in proximity of railway tracks, for taking timely preventive action.

Science

NADA India Data Administration and Management System (NIDAMS)

  • It is a online digital platform.
  • Launched by – Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Objectives – To digitalize the planning of the testing of athlete, mission order generation, availability of the Doping Control Officers (DCOs).
  • To overall improve the transparency, accountability, and efficiency in sample collection of athletes in compliance to the WADA International standards.

National Anti-Doping Agency, India (‘‘NADA India’’)

  • NADA – It is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Aim – To implement the anti-doping programme in India and works towards promoting clean sport practices across the country.
  • Functions – Sample Collection, Results Management, Anti-Doping Education & Awareness, Science & Research and Intelligence & Investigations.
  • Signatory to – The World Anti-Doping Code.
  • Significance – It upholds the values of ethics and integrity in sports and is committed to creating a dope-free sporting environment.

Khelo Bharat Niti-2025

  • Launched by – Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS)
  • 5 key pillars –
    • Achieving global excellence,
    • Boosting economic growth,
    • Promoting social inclusion and health,
    • Making sports a mass movement and
    • Integrating sports with education.
  • Objectives – To ensure equitable access to sports infrastructure across the country.
  • To establish comprehensive sports programs for all participation groups, including Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, rural areas and women athletes.
