Zojila tunnel project
The recent historic Breakthrough Achieved at Zojila Tunnel Project highlights Transformational Connectivity Initiatives Across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
- It will become Asia's longest bi-directional road tunnel and the world's longest single-tube high-altitude (11,578 feet) bypass.
- Located on – National Highway 1 (NH 1).
- Project connects – the Kashmir Valley (Sonamarg/Baltal) with Ladakh (Drass/Minamarg) to ensure year-round, all-weather connectivity across the treacherous Zojila Pass.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)

Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda
PM paids tributes to Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji on his martyrdom day.
- He was born on November 15, 1875, in Jharkhand (June 9, 1900 died).
- Spearheaded – the Munda Rebellion (Ulgulan/The Great Tumult) between 1899 and 1900 against British colonial exploitation.
- Revered – as 'Dharti Aba' (Father of the Earth) and 'Bhagwan' (God) for defending tribal identity, land, and culture.
- Religious & Social Reformer – He started a unique faith called Birsait, urging tribal communities to shun superstitions and reclaim their traditional roots.
- Impact – his fierce rebellion forced the British to enact the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act of 1908 to protect tribal land rights.
