Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Scheme
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has recently completed its first call for proposals and initiated the second call for the eligible scientists in this scheme.
The Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) is a fellowship programme to connect the Indian STEMM diaspora with Indian academic and R&D institutions.
It is being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology.
Fellowship Grant–Fellowship would include fellowship grant (INR 4,00,000 per month), international and domestic travel, accommodation and contingencies.
The scheme provides financial assistance to the institute that facilitates the fellow for research work.
Eligibility – The fellowship is open to outstanding scientists and technologists who are actively engaged in research activities in their respective countries. The eligible scientist include:
Indian origin (Non-resident Indians (NRI)
Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
They will be required to spend 1-2 months annually for a maximum of three years.
The fellowship is open for all areas under Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics as well as Medicine (STEMM).
