Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY‑G)

• Launched in - 2016
• To realise Housing for All by 2029, provides pucca houses with basic amenities (roads, electricity, LPG, toilets, drinking water).
• Initiated by – Ministry of Rural Development
• Women Empowerment – 75% houses sanctioned in women’s name or joint ownership.
• Campaign – PMAY-G beneficiary to plant at least one sapling under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” on World Environment Day, 5 June 2026.

President of India’s Police Colour

• It is highest honour for a police force, conferred by the President of India in recognition of exceptional service, discipline, and contribution to peace & security also known as Rashtrapati ka Nishan.
• Recent Update (2026) – Awarded to Sikkim Police (est. 1897) for maintaining peace & harmony by President of India.
• Eligibility –

India–Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue

CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement)

• India–Korea CEPA – In force since 2010; currently under 12th round (2026) of upgrade talks to address India’s trade deficit and expand cooperation in digital trade, supply chains, strategic industries.
• Objective – Enhance market access, resilient supply chains, balanced trade, and future‑oriented partnership.
• India’s CEPA – United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Japan, and South Korea

Economy

Kazipet Rail Manufacturing Unit

It is a versatile rolling stock unit nearing completion at Kazipet, Telangana.

Aim – Manufacture 200 intercity trains in 5 years.

Features – Short‑distance shuttle‑style trains with frequent stops, regenerative braking, designed for 130 kmph.

Regenerative braking – It means that when the train applies brakes, it will become a generator of electricity & feed the regenerated electricity back into the grid.

NHAI Asset Monetisation

• NHAI identified 17 projects across 9 States (Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra) for monetisation.
• NHAI - Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
• Mechanism – Monetisation via TOT, InvIT and excludes assets under RIIT

FPI Sell‑off in Indian Equities

MSCI EM outperformed Nifty in recent months, showing India’s relative underperformance.

Tripura Queen Pineapple Mission (2026–2028)

• Queen Pineapple – A GI-Tagged fruit (received in 2018), grown in north eastern states noted for its intense, aromatic sweetness, deep golden-yellow flesh, and unique crispy texture.
• Launched by – Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) to promote GI‑tagged Queen Pineapple.
• Aim – To build a complete value chain—from farm to global markets.
• Infrastructure – Hub and Spoke ecosystem – 1 central hub near Agartala airport + 8 spoke colletion centers for grading, cold storage, reefer logistics, Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring, digital traceability.
• Bio‑Economy – Utilisation of 60% plant waste: Bromelain extraction and Pineapple Leaf Fiber (PALF) processing, GI‑branded confectionery.

• Codeine Phosphate – It is an opioid derivative used in cough syrups.
• Triprolidine Hydrochloride – It is an antihistamine.
• Legal Aspect – Classified as a narcotic & psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act, 1985; diversion or misuse is punishable.
• Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) – The apex intelligence agency under Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
  Empowered by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
• It curbs narcotics smuggling through intelligence‑driven seizures and investigation of trafficking networks.
