8th Session of the Codex Committee on Spices and Culinary Herbs
- Began in – Guwahati, Assam.
- Organised by – Spices Board under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
- Participants – It brought together 81 delegates from 27 countries to discuss harmonised international standards for spices and culinary herbs.
- Aim – To elevate quality standards through collaborative deliberations and strengthen the foundation of a food system that is safe, sustainable, and beneficial for all.

Codex Committee on Spices and Culinary Herbs
- Established in – 2013 at India’s initiative.
- Functions under – Codex Alimentarius Commission of the FAO and WHO.
- Secretariat – India’s Spices Board.
- Finalised standards for – 16 spices, including pepper, turmeric, cumin, nutmeg, cardamom, and saffron.
- The ongoing session will focus on developing new standards for large cardamom, sweet marjoram, cinnamon, and dried coriander seeds.

Joint Military Exercise
- Exercise between – Indian Air Force (IAF) and United Kingdom’s Carrier Strike Group (CSG) over the Indian Ocean Region.
- Drill featured – IAF Sukhoi-30 MKIs, Jaguars, AWACS, and AEW&C aircraft operating alongside Royal Navy F-35B fighter jets from HMS Prince of Wales.
- Aim – To enhance interoperability, mutual trust, and operational coordination between the two forces, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional security and stability.

Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri
INS Sahyadri, as part of ongoing operational deployment to the South China Sea and Indo-Pacific made a port call at Busan Naval Harbour, to participate in the maiden Indian Navy (IN) – Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) Bilateral Exercise.
- It is 3rd ship of the Shivalik Class Guided Missile Stealth Frigates, indigenously designed and constructed.
- Commissioned in – 2012.
- Shining example of – India's ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision.
- Based at – Visakhapatnam as part of the Eastern Fleet under the aegis of the Eastern Naval Command.
