Social Issues

Manthan–2025

  • Held at – Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Lucknow.
  • Organized by – Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).
  • Objectives – To focus on comprehensive performance review, strategic planning, and alignment of research activities for the financial year 2026–27.
  • To strengthen coordination, streamline processes, and ensure effective planning to advance the Council’s research mandate.

National Homoeopathy Conference

  • A 2-day National Homoeopathy Conference on the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2025.
  • Organised by – National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH).
  • Nodal ministry – Ministry of AYUSH.
  • Central theme – ‘Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies’.
  • Aim – To focus on the growing relevance of Homoeopathy in psychiatric emergencies and explored innovative research and integrative approaches to mental health care.

National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health

  • An apex institution under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH).
  • Established in – 1974.
  • Upgraded as - National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), in 2016.
  • Aim – To introduce academic courses to enhance the academic standards in Homeopathy along with quality research activities.

Polity & Governance

‘Fare Se Fursat’ initiative

  • Initiative by – Alliance Air, India’s government-owned regional carrier, under Ministry of Civil Aviation.
  • Implemented on – A pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025 across select routes, to evaluate its operational feasibility and passenger response.
  • Aim – To give passengers freedom from the stress of fluctuating airfares and promote ease of flying in the country.
  • Significance – It perfectly aligns with the core principles of the UDAN scheme.

Economy

'Employees' Enrolment Campaign, 2025' (EEC 2025)

  • Announced by – Ministry of Labour and Employment.
  • Aim – To bring a large number of workers under the ambit of organized social security through EPFO.
  • Operational from – November 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
  • Legal basis – Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, to voluntarily declare and enroll eligible employees.
  • Registered employers – Eligible to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri-Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana.
  • Eligibility – All establishments irrespective of facing inquiries under section 7A of the Act or under paragraph 26B of the scheme or under paragraph 8 of the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995.
  • Previous successful enrolment campaign conducted in – 2017 for enrolment of left-out eligible employees from 2009 to 2016.

PM Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity

DPIIT, commemorated the completion of 4 transformative years of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) and launched  PM GatiShakti Public.

  • A digital platform to bring 16 Ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.
  • Launched in – October 2021.
  • Developed by – Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N).
  • Powered by – National Geospatial Data Registry (NGDR).
  • Objectives – To provide integrated and seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods and services from one mode of transport to another.
  • To facilitate the last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduce travel time for people.

PM GatiShakti Public

  • PM GatiShakti Public through the Unified Geospatial Interface (UGI).
  • This is a query-based web platform provides regulated access to selected non-sensitive data sets from the PM GatiShakti national master plan (NMP).
  • It enables private entities, consultants, researchers, and citizens to leverage advanced analytics for infrastructure planning and investment decisions.
  • Launched by – Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
  • Aim – To Democratize Access to Geospatial and Infrastructure Data.

Miscellaneous

World Standards Day 2025

  • Observed on – 14th October.
  • 1st celebration in – 1970.
  • Established by – International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
  • Aim – To raise global awareness about the importance of standards in ensuring safety, quality, and international trade.

World Standards Day programme

  • Held at – National Institute of Training for Standardization (NITS).
  • Organized by – Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
  • Theme 2025 – “A Shared Vision for a Better World: Standards for Sustainable Development Goals,”.
    • It emphasizes the crucial role of international standards as enablers of cooperation and progress.
  • Launched – Learning Management System (LMS) and the Online Standards Development (OSD) Module of the BIS Standards Portal.
  • Released – National Lighting Code of India 2025.

‘Samarth’ Program

  • A cutting-edge Incubation Program for startups in Telecom & ICT Sector in March 2025.
  • Launched by – Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), an autonomous telecom R&D institution under Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
  • Implementation partners – Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
  • Aim – To offers holistic support to startups and innovators working in telecom applications, cybersecurity, 5G/6G technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT, and quantum technologies.
