RBI Removes Paytm Payments Bank from Scheduled Banks List
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has removed Paytm Payments Bank Ltd. (PPBL) from the list of Scheduled Banks.

- The decision follows the cancellation of PPBL’s banking licence by the RBI.

- RBI stated that the bank’s affairs were being conducted in a manner detrimental to the interests of depositors.

- Following the licence cancellation, the Delhi High Court ordered the winding up of Paytm Payments Bank.

- PPBL had faced several restrictions from the RBI:
- March 2022 – Barred from onboarding new customers due to supervisory concerns.
