  • Aim – To recognize and create awareness on the sacrifices and contributions of tribal people in India’s freedom movement.

SabhaSaar

  • It is an AI-enabled voice-to-text meeting summarisation tool.
  • Launched by – Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
  • Operates on – AI and cloud infrastructure provisioned through the IndiaAI Compute Portal under the IndiaAI Mission of MeitY.
  • Available to – All States/UTs, and Gram Panchayats are progressively adopting it for routine Gram Sabha and Panchayat meetings.
  • Objectives
  • To enables structured capture and analysis of Gram Sabha proceedings and supports monitoring of key parameters such as frequency/ type of Gram Sabha meetings and participation.
  • To facilitates recording of the meeting type, date and conduct of Gram Sabha meetings, preparation of minutes through voice-to-text transcription, and validation of records by Panchayat functionaries.

AIPMA Job Fair Season 2026

  • Organised by – Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals (DCPC).
  • Collaboration with – All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) and with the support of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET).
  • Objective – To support and promote organisations involved in facilitating job opportunities and skill upgradation of youths.

World Wetlands Day

  • Observed annually on – 2nd February.
  • Commemoration to – The anniversary of the Convention on Wetlands, which was adopted as an international treaty in 1971.
  • Theme – "Wetlands and traditional knowledge: Celebrating cultural heritage".
  • It explores the deep-rooted connections between wetlands and cultural practices, traditions and knowledge systems of communities across the world.
  • Aim – To raise global awareness of the vital role of wetlands for people, nature and culture.

Blackbuck - Special Postal Cover

  • Released by – Department of Post, to mark World Wetlands Day.
  • Features – A colour image of the blackbuck, a special cancellation, and the animal’s name rendered in Tamil script, adding to its thematic and aesthetic value.
  • Objective – To raise public awareness of wetland conservation, biodiversity protection, and the ecological role of wetlands, while also reflecting the department’s social responsibility.

Blackbuck in TN

  • Found in – Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary,TN.
  • The blackbuck population at Point Calimere represents one of only three distinct habitats for the species in Tamil Nadu.
  • Other habitats –
    • Guindy National Park in Chennai and
    • Near Sathyamangalam in Erode district.
  • Significance – It highlights the ecological and cultural significance of one of Tamil Nadu’s most important wetland ecosystems.

Blackbuck

  • It is also known as Indian Antelope.
  • Scientific name – Antilope cervicapra.
  • Native to – Nepal, India and Pakistan.
  • Distributed in – Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and other areas throughout peninsular India.
  • State animal of – Punjab, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh.
  • Conservation –
    • IUCN: Least Concern  
    • WPA, 1972: Schedule I
    • CITES: Appendix III
  • Threats – Overhunting, widespread logging, and the destruction of natural habitats.

Rare Earth Mud

Japan retrieves rare earth mud from deep seabed in test mission.

  • It marks the world’s 1st attempt to continuously lift rare-earth-bearing seabed mud from such depths to a ship.
  • Test vessel – Chikyu near Minamitori Island, about 1,900 km (1,200 miles) southeast of Tokyo.
  • May contain –
    • Dysprosium and neodymium, used in electric vehicle motor magnets.
    • Gadolinium and terbium, which are used in a range of high-tech products.
  • Significance – Tokyo seeks to cut dependence on China for vital minerals amid Beijing’s supply restrictions.

Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM) Initiative

  • Spearheaded by – Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
  • Aim – To achieve debris-free space missions by all Indian space actors, both governmental and non-governmental, by 2030.
  • Significance – It aligns with global efforts for space sustainability, positioning India as a nation prioritizing safety, security, and sustainability in outer space activities.
