Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme
- It is a flagship cultural and national integration initiative.
- Announced in – 2015.
- Integrated into – National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- Activities –
- Promotion of bilingualism – It teaches basic vocabulary, 100 common sentences of paired state's language.
- MyGov Campaign Portal & Bhasha Sangam app for learning 22 official Indian languages.
- Objective – To celebrate the country's rich diversity and foster a stronger sense of shared identity.
- Significance – It establishes active cultural partnerships between different Indian states and UTs.

Union minister launched India Skills Competition 2026–27 to discover india's next generation of skill champions recently.
- It is the country’s premier vocational skills competition.
- Launched by – Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
- Skill categories – 63 industry ranging from digital, creative, industrial etc.
- Phased programme – Event held in successive tiers – District -> State -> Zonal -> Regional -> National Level.
- Registration – (Must) Digitally through Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) portal.
- Objective – To identify, nurture, and showcase the brightest talented youth across India.

Indian Ministry of Railways has officially approved the Rs.499 crore Mansi–Saharsa Doubling Project recently.

Net Remittances from West Asia to India
Despite the West Asia crisis, net remittances from the region to India rose to $16 billion in April 2026.
- Growth rate – 70% increase compared to April 2025.
- Reason for resilience – Remittances are tied to employment and wage levels in host economies, not financial market volatility.
- Comparison – Unlike FDI, portfolio flows, or debt flows, remittances remain acyclical and stable.
- Note – Remittances recorded under Current Account of a country's Balance of Payments as "invisibles".

Electronic Interlocking (EI) project
Recently, Indian Railways has sanctioned a project for the replacement of relay-based interlocking with EI.
- It is a modernized, computer-based railway signaling system.
- Objectives –
- To ensure control of train movements, track switching, and signal management via a digital interface.
- To replace outdated relay-based installations with software-controlled networks,
- To allow station operators to change tracks and lower signals with the click of a mouse.
- Safety feature – EI integrate easily with advanced train protection systems—such as the
- Indigenous Kavach system.
- Automatic Block Signalling (ABS).
- Centralised Traffic Control (CTC).
- Significance – Improves system reliability and fault diagnosis.
