Why in News?
Recently, The Taal Volcano erupts three times in Philippines.
Location - Taal Volcano is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines, about 50 km south of Manila.
It lies within Taal Lake, a large freshwater lake, making it a volcano within a lake on an island within a lake, a rare geological feature.
Type - It is a complex volcano and also classified as a caldera volcano, meaning it has a large crater formed by past massive eruptions.
Activity - Taal is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines.
Its eruptions can be explosive (producing ash plumes and pyroclastic flows) or phreatomagmatic (interaction of water and magma).
Hazards - Ashfall, lava flows, pyroclastic surges, and volcanic gas emissions.

Permanent danger zone- Volcano Island is considered a permanent danger zone and is off-limits to residents and tourists due to the persistent threat of volcanic activity.
