Why in news?

Speaking at the AIMA’s 52nd National Management Convention, Chief of the Army Staff said, the Indian Army has used SAMBHAV in Operation Sindoor, instead of others mobile ecosystem.

  • SAMBHAV - The Secure Army Mobile Bharat Version, known as SAMBHAV, is an indigenous, end-to-end secure mobile ecosystem developed by the Indian Army.
  • Aim - To provide secure communication with instant connectivity that runs on contemporary 5G technology, while ensuring multi-layered encryption for its officials.
  • Developed by- Indian Army in collaboration with national centers of excellence from academia and industry.
  • Features – It includes indigenous applications like M-Sigma, designed as a secure alternative to WhatsApp, enabling officers to share documents, images, and videos without risk of leaks.
  • Need for SAMBHAV - Mobile networks are prone to eavesdropping and therefore information security of mobiles is at risk of being compromised.
  • An end-to-end secure mobile ecosystem which is network-agnostic has been developed to provide secure communication with instant connectivity.
  • Alings with - Government's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and works towards "dual-use infrastructure".
  • It also manifests "civil-military fusion" in the field of emerging technology.
  • Significance – It leverages the potential of indigenous public cellular networks in the country and the ecosystem has 5G -ready handsets using multi-tier encryption.

Operation Sindoor

  • It was launched to respond to a cross-border terror attack by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
  • It focused on dismantling terrorist infrastructure and neutralizing terrorists likely to be sent across to India.
  • India's actions were focused, measured, and non-escalatory.

AIMA’s 52nd National Management Convention

  • All India Management Association's (AIMA) 52nd National Management Convention is being organized recently at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.
  • Theme, 2025 – ‘Global Trends and Future Strategies: Resilience and Adaptability in a Changing World’.
  • It is an annual event that held in September every year.
