Why in News?
Ahead of the implementation of the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), Union Rural Development Ministry has launched ‘Rural Internal Audit Portal’ during the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan.
- Rural Internal Audit Portal – It is one of the generic and open source applications developed to facilitate recording details for Internal Audit as per the defined process.
- Aim – To streamline the internal audit process for rural development programs, improving efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Developed By – Conceived by the Office of the Chief Controller of Accounts (CCA), Ministry of Rural Development, and developed with the collobration of National Informatics Centre (NIC).
Key Features of the Portal
- AI based Unified Platform – It is an AI-enabled unified digital platform for end-to-end management of internal audits covering both risk-based and compliance audits.
- Digital Transformation – The portal has transformed internal audit from a fragmented, paper-intensive, and largely manual exercise into a transparent, technology-enabled, and data-driven management system.

- Transparency – It is designed to reduce irregularities like fake muster rolls, misuse of funds, and poor documentation.
