SURAKSHIT

  • Developed by – National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM).
  • Aim – To transform agri-food processing waste into fully biodegradable, bio-based packaging material, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics.
  • Significance – it will enhance a waste-to-resource approach and convert agro-waste into a useful product while promoting a circular economy.

Transitioning to Quantum Cyber Readiness

CERT-In and SISA launch ‘Transitioning to Quantum Cyber Readiness’ to guide India’s shift towards a Quantum-Safe future through encryption innovation.

  • It is a process of preparing system and infrastructure to withstand the disruptive potential threat of quantum technologies, which could break current encryption methods.
  • Launched by – Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
  • Aim – To adopt quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms and develop a "crypto-agile" approach to cybersecurity.

CERT-In

  • It is the national agency for responding to cyber security incidents.
  • Legal basis – Information Technology Amendment Act 2000.
  • Objectives – Collection, analysis and dissemination of information on cyber incidents.
  • To coordinate, forecast, alert and take emergency measures for cyber security incidents.
  • Issue guidelines, advisories, vulnerability notes and whitepapers relating to information security practices, procedures, prevention, response and reporting of cyber incidents.

SISA

  • It is a leader in cybersecurity solutions for the digital payment industry and global payment forensic investigator of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council.
  • Aim – To leverage forensics insights into preventive, detective, and corrective security solutions.
  • Coverage – To protect 1,000+ organizations across 40+ countries from evolving cyberthreats.

PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC)

  • It is a global forum for the development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection.
  • Aim – To enhance global payment account data security by developing standards.
  • 4 strategic framework
    • Increase industry participation and knowledge
    • Evolve security standards and validation programs
    • Secure emerging payment channels
    • Increase standards alignment and consistency

Science

Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Scheme of Ayush

  • It is a Central Sector Scheme.
  • Launched in – 9th, 10th, 1 1th & 12th five-year plan and updated in 2014 by Ministry of Ayush.
  • Umbrella scheme - National AYUSH Mission (NAM).
  • Objectives – To disseminate proven results of R&D work.
  • To create doorsteps awareness through the production of audio-visual educational materials.
  • To provide a forum for horizontal and vertical interaction among stakeholders.

Promotion of International Co-operation in Ayush (IC Scheme)

  • Period – FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26.
  • Umbrella scheme – National AYUSH Mission (NAM).
  • Objectives – To create awareness about Ayush systems of medicine in international arena.

Visiting Advanced Joint Research (VAJRA) Faculty Scheme

  • Launched in – 2017, by Department of Science and Technology.
  • Aim – To enable NRIs and overseas scientific community to participate and contribute to research and development in India.
  • Implemented by – Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR)

  • GPR – It is a shallow, high-resolution geophysical method that uses high-frequency, pulsed, electromagnetic waves to image the subsurface.
  • Usage – Mapping bedrock configuration and identifying karst features, voids, burrows and lava tubes etc.
  • For search and rescue operations, detecting voids & buried objects, and assessing structural damage.
  • To helps to understand the earthquake's impact on the subsurface & map fractures, changes of rock type, and rock fabrics.
