Supreme Court Guidelines – Human Trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (CSE)

  • Supreme Court invoked Articles 32 & 142 to lay down a binding direction constituting a Victim Protection Plan covering rescue, identification, rehabilitation, prosecution, and institutional coordination.
  • Key Points
  • Consent – It is the central differentiator (trafficking vs voluntary sex work).
  • Rescue under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 must target exploitation and coercion, not consensual sex work.
  • Rooted protections in Article 23 (prohibition of trafficking).
  • Child protection integrates Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO Act for care, rehabilitation and safeguarding against sexual offences.
  • Relied on Palermo Protocol
    •  3 essential elements – The Action, The Means and The Exploitation.
    •  Consent becomes legally irrelevant in cases where trafficking is established through force, coercion, deception, or exploitation.

Pension Adalat – Grievance Redressal

  • Pension Adalat - A platform for on-the-spot qualitative redressal of long‑pending pension grievances of Central Government pensioners or family pensioners.

Common Landing Portal – Unclaimed Financial Assets

  • A single unified portal.
  • Aim – To trace unclaimed bank deposits, insurance claims, shares, dividends, mutual funds; aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
  • Launched by – Department of Financial Services (DFS) under Ministry of Finance in collaboration with PSB (Public Sector Banks) Alliance.
  • PSB Alliance – It is a joint venture of India's 12 Public Sector Banks (PSBs) established under the Government of India's EASE (Enhanced Access and Service Excellence) Banking Reforms Programme.

Special Economic Zones (SEZs)

Recently, Government notified 2 New SEZs in Puducherry.

  • It is a designated geographical area within a country where business and trade laws are different, often more relaxed from the rest of the nation.
  • Announced in – April 2000.
  • Governed by – SEZ Act, 2005.
  • Features – Promote exports, Foreign Direct Investment, employment, infrastructure; enjoy tax incentives, simplified procedures, single‑window clearance.

Zero Coupon Zero Principal Instrument (ZCZP)

Recently, MCA facilitated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through ZCZPs by expanding the scope of Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013.

  • Zero Coupon Zero Principal Instruments (ZCZPs) – They are regulated securities that let Not‑for‑Profit Organisations raise funds via the Social Stock Exchange (SSE).
  • Unlike normal bonds, they pay no interest and do not return the invested capital.
  • ZCZP’s key benefit is converting un‑tracked donations into transparent, audited social investments.

India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)

Recently, A MoU signed to establish an Advanced Packaging Glass Core Substrate Facility in Bhubaneswar–Khurda.

  • ISM – A transformative initiative designed to propel the country into the global spotlight as a leader in semiconductor and display manufacturing.
  • Launched in 2021 under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

  • Compiled under Combined Defence Services (CDS) guidance with support from United Service Institution of India (USI) of India.
