  • Significance –
    • It honours the lives and ideals of prominent leaders.
    • It embodies the spirit of self-respect, unity, and service.
    • This state-of-the-art museum highlights selfless leadership and good governance.
    • It stands on land that was once a garbage dump but has since been cleaned up.

Constitution of India in Santhali Language

President released the Constitution of India in the Santhali language.

  • Santhali Language – A Munda language of the Austroasiatic language family, spoken by the Santhal people in Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar.
  • Script – Ol Chiki script, The official writing system for the Santhali language.
  • 8th Schedule – It lists 22 official languages of India, including Santhali, which was added in 2003.
  • Objectives – To promotes understanding of the Constitution among Santhali people in their native language, fostering inclusivity and empowerment.

Dignified Life for Widows

Over 900 villages in Nashik district, Maharashtra, have passed resolutions to end humiliating traditions against widows.

  • Key Issues
  • A prevalent tradition in rural areas involves the public removal of ornaments such as vermilion, bangles, toe rings, and mangalsutra from widows, symbolising a loss of social status.
  • Key Initiatives
  • Resolution – A total of 915 villages in Nashik district have passed resolutions opposing these traditional practices.
  • Pledge – More than 1,100 couples have signed the 'Saubhagyache Shapathpatra,' pledging to refrain from adhering to such customs.
  • Affidavit – It affirms the values of equality, freedom, and dignity as enshrined in the Constitution, denounces harmful and unscientific practices, and commits to promoting social awareness.
  • Part of – The Navchetana programme implemented by the Nashik Zilla Parishad at the district level.
  • Objectives – To raise awareness and empower widows through workshops, self-employment opportunities, access to loans, and educational initiatives.
    • To promote social assimilation and prevent discrimination, 'haldi-kunku' programmes are organised specifically for widows.
  • Inspired by – The philosophies of Mahatma Phule and Gopal Ganesh Agarkar.

Colliery Control (Amendment) Rules, 2025

  • Nodal ministry – Ministry of Coal.
  • Amended – The provisions governing approval for opening coal and lignite mines under the Colliery Control Rules, 2004.
  • Objective –
    • To simplify approval process for opening coal mines.
    • To empowers Board of Coal Companies to approve the opening of mine, seam or section of a seam.

Navchetna – A New Consciousness on Life Skills and Drug Education for School Children

  • It is a series of evidence-based training modules.
  • Developed by – Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM) in consultation with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
  • Divided into –
    • Upper primary (11–14-year-olds, containing 3 modules).
    • Secondary schools (14–17-year-olds, containing 6 modules).
  • The programme’s various modules are adapted to each group and include such issues as:
    • Live and eat healthy,
    • Recognizing risks and preventing child sexual abuse,
    • Managing peer pressure and emotions,
    • Recognizing and handling violence,
    • Drug information and education, for both children and parents/families.
  • Aim – To increase awareness against drugs and promote education on life skills among students in schools.

4 e-Governance Initiatives

  • Launched by – Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions
  • Initiatives –
    • AI-powered Recruitment Rules Generator Tool – It simplifies the formulation of Recruitment Rules through guided inputs and automated drafting, reducing delays and improving consistency.
    • e-HRMS 2.0 mobile application – As a key pillar of Mission Karmayogi, intended to bring essential HR services directly to employees’ mobile devices, reducing paperwork, improving transparency and enabling faster decision-making.
    • New AI-enabled features on the iGOT Karmayogi portal – It includes AI Sarthi, AI Tutor, structured specialisation programmes and capacity-building planning tools.
    • Karmayogi Digital Learning Lab 2.0 – For digital content creation, enabling the development of high-quality e-learning modules using AR, VR, simulations, gamification and ensuring rapid dissemination of best practices across the civil services.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA)

NMIA has commenced commercial operations.

  • Operator – Adani Airports.
  • Capacity – 20 million passengers per annum (MPPA).
  • Connected Projects –
    • Atal Setu (Mumbai Trans Harbour Link).
    • Alibaug–Virar Multimodal Corridor.
    • Mumbai–Navi Mumbai Metro
    • Improved connectivity to Mumbai–Pune Expressway
  • Objective – To alleviate congestion at the existing Mumbai airport through the development of a Greenfield airport.
  • Significance – It paves the way for a thriving multi-airport network in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Cardiac Death Burden

  • Report by – Registrar General of India (RGI) Report 2023.
  • Key Findings
    • Main cause – Diseases of the circulatory system (36.4% of medically certified deaths).
    • Trend – 4% points lower than 2022 (40%).
    • Medical Certification Rate – 22% of all registered deaths were medically certified (0.3% lower than 2022).
    • Age Distribution –
    • Highest incidence in people above 70 years.
    • 2nd highest in 55-64 age group.
    • Leading cause of death in all age cohorts from 15 years upwards.

Diseases of the Circulatory System

  • These conditions are also referred to as cardiovascular diseases.
  • Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) comprise a group of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels.
  • It consists of
    • Coronary heart disease – A disease of the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle;
    • Cerebrovascular disease – A disease of the blood vessels supplying the brain;
    • Peripheral arterial disease – A disease of blood vessels supplying the arms and legs;
    • Rheumatic heart disease – Damage to the heart muscle and heart valves from rheumatic fever, caused by streptococcal bacteria;
    • Congenital heart disease – Birth defects that affect the normal development and functioning of the heart caused by malformations of the heart structure from birth;
    • Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism – Blood clots in the leg veins, which can dislodge and move to the heart and lungs.
    • Heart attacks and strokes – These are usually acute events and are mainly caused by a blockage that prevents blood from flowing to the heart or brain.
