World Cooperative Monitor Report
Prime Minister congratulates Amul and IFFCO for securing the 1st and 2nd ranks in the global ranking for cooperatives.
- It is the only report of its kind collecting annual quantitative data on the global cooperative movement.
- Designed to – Collect robust economic, organizational, and social data about cooperatives worldwide.
- Released by – International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (EURICSE).

2 New Specialised Cadres
CAG plans to create two new cadres for more centralisation.
- Approved by – Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
- 2 new cadres within – Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD)
- Central Revenue Audit (CRA) Cadre.
- Central Expenditure Audit (CEA) Cadre.
- Effect from – 1st January 2026,
- Aim – To build deeper professional expertise and further improve the quality of audit of Central Government finances.
- Current status – At present, the audit of Central receipts and expenditure is undertaken by multiple offices with cadre control dispersed across multiple State Civil Audit offices leading to fragmentation.
- Advantages –
- The new cadres will consolidate over 4,000 audit professionals out of the total strength of CAG at 42,000.
- This measure will also help reduce dependence on deployment and manage manpower in a more flexible manner.

National Geo Platform
National Geospatial Policy, 2022, Survey of India (SoI), has entered into an agreement with C.E. Info Systems Pvt. Ltd.
- Nodal ministry – Ministry of Science & Technology.
- Objectives – To build an integrated and collaborative ecosystem for geospatial data dissemination.
- To serve as a robust and scalable system for standardizing, sharing, and managing foundational geospatial datasets — including Ortho-Rectified Imagery, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Administrative Boundaries, Geodetic Reference Frame, and Geographical Names.
- Key components – Geospatial Data integration & dissemination System, Integrated Geospatial Application Interface (IGAI), and a Spatial Data Registry (SDR) for metadata management.

Fiscal Deficit
The Centre's fiscal deficit stood at 36.5% of the full-year target at the end of the 1st half of FY26, according to data released by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA).
- Fiscal deficit, the condition when the expenditure of the government exceeds its revenue in a year, is the difference between the two.
- In either case, the income figure includes only taxes and other revenues and excludes money borrowed to make up the shortfall.
- Fiscal deficit = Total revenue generated — Total expenditure.

Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS)
Flight operations at Delhi Airport are experiencing delays due to a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which supports Air Traffic Control data.
- AMSS – AMSS is the sole provider of Indian Meteorological data to Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network (AFTN) for Aviation.
- It is the backbone for observational data collection and distribution within India.
- From observatory data is collected by AMSS High Speed Data Terminal (HSDT), locally developed web portals of AMSS, Email, Telephone etc.
- 6 AMSS in India – Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati and Nagpur.

India’s 1st digital Census
- Conducted under – Census Act, 1948 and the Census Rules, 1990.
- It will be completed in 2 phases –
- The house listing and housing operations – Total 30 questions on housing amenities will be asked, will be held in select areas across the country from November 10 to 30.
- The population enumeration – It will also count the population by caste for the 1st time in Independent India.
- Time span – Both phases usually span a period of 11 months from April 1 to February 28 the following year.
- Last census was conducted in – 2010 and 2011.

2 Mobile Applications for Digital Population Census
- Launched by – Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India.
- 2 applications –
- Digital Layout Map (DLM)
- World’s largest data collection exercise, into a digital operation.
- Record – Building coordinates, the names of localities, roads or streets, building numbers, building names, building type, building use, landmarks, number of floors, and number of Census houses.
- Census 2027-Houselist
- Aim – To enhance the speed, accuracy, and reliability of the house listing and housing census operations, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming population enumeration phase.
- Compatible with – Both Android and Apple phones.
