Why in news?
Recently, the Union Ministry of Education has launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 – India’s largest innovation movement.
It is a nationwide innovation movementset to engage students from schools having classes 6 -12.
This would be India’s largest-ever student innovation initiative and an important step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
It is aiming to engage one crore students from over 1.5 lakh schools.
Purpose – To foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students by encouraging them to develop indigenous prototypes based on national priorities.
Launched by – Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
Participants – Students from classes 6 -12 across the country.
4 themes –
Atmanirbhar Bharat – building self-reliant systems and solutions
Swadeshi – fostering indigenous ideas and innovation
Vocal for Local – promoting local products, crafts, and resources
Samriddhi – creating pathways to prosperity and sustainable growth

Hands-on, experiential learning in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020
Inclusive participation with special focus on Aspirational Districts, Tribal and Remote regions
Significance – It is a movement to ignite and empower young minds, celebrate innovation, and strengthen the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat and India's innovation culture.
