Recently, the 3rd edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue began in New Delhi.

  • Participants from – Nearly 75 countries.
  • Aim – To focus on maritime cooperation, ocean governance, green shipping, ports, shipbuilding, supply-chain resilience and the blue economy.

India–European Union Green Shipping Corridor

  • Proposed at – 3rd edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue.
  • Objective – To promote green shipping practices, the adoption of cleaner fuels, and decarbonisation across maritime routes in anticipation of the proposed India–European Union free trade agreement (FTA).
  • Agenda – Itemphasizes sustainable maritime logistics, port digitalisation, and the development of advanced shipbuilding infrastructure.

  • Proposed Implementation Timeline
    • 2025: Initiation of a pre-feasibility study.
