Prelims: Current events of national and international importance | Government policies and interventions 

Why in news?

The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India on 17 September 2025 as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh (15 Nov 2024 – 15 Nov 2025).

  • This is a national movement to build a decentralized tribal leadership and governance ecosystem.
  • It seeks to transform governance into a people’s movement and serve as a foundation for Viksit Bharat 2047.
  • Nodal Ministry - Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  • Key Objectives -
    • Train and mobilize 20 Lakh Tribal Leaders
    • Establish 1 Lakh Adi Sewa Kendras – Single Window Tribal Service Centres.
    • Facilitate Village Vision 2030 Planning & Development Action Plan.
    • Promote last-mile convergence & effective service delivery.
    • Capture & amplify voices of tribal communities.
  • Three Pillars of Leadership
    • Adi Karmayogi (Government Officers);
    • Adi Sahyogi (Youth, Teachers, Doctors); and
    • Adi Saathi (SHG Members (NRLM), Villagers, Tribal Elders).
  • Adi Karmayogi Portal – It serves as the digital backbone of this mission enabling registration, training, monitoring, and transformation at scale.

Adi Yuva Fellowship

  • It is supported by United Nations (UN) India.
  • It is a first-of-its-kind programme designed to empower tribal youth through structured learning, mentorship, and career development.
  • Features - Selected tribal youth will undertake a 12-month paid Fellowship, with a tailored learning plan that balances knowledge-building, on-the-job experience, and reflective practice.
  • 16 fellows selected across India.
  • Benefits -
    • Fellows will receive monthly allowances, comprehensive health and life insurance, access to high-quality UN and commercial learning platforms.
    • Link Fellows to national skilling and employability schemes such as PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, etc , ensuring pathways to long-term careers.
  • Adi Karmayogi Volunteers - It is supported by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
  • It will equip tribal youth to act as catalysts for grassroots change and strengthen last-mile service delivery in tribal regions.
  • Volunteers will support Village Vision 2030 planning, awareness drives, outreach, and improved access to schemes and services.
  • Significance – This will strengthen community participation and inclusive governance at the village level.
