Mahad Satyagraha
- Led by – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on March 20, 1927.
- Location – Mahad, a town located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.
- About – The movement was a pioneering, non-violent struggle for human rights, demanding Dalit access to the public Chavdar Lake in Maharashtra, the right to drink water from that tank.
- It is also called the Chavdar Tank Satyagraha.
- Now, March 20 is observed as Social Empowerment Day to honour this legacy of dignity and self-respect.

“Guillotine” in the Indian Parliament
Lok Sabha passed Demands for Grants for various ministries totalling over ₹53 lakh crore using the guillotine process.
- It refers to a time-bound mechanism used to fast-track the approval of financial proposals, specifically Demands for Grants without detailed debate.
- Purpose – To fast-track the passage of the Budget and associated financial business, ensuring the Finance Bill is passed before the financial year deadline.
- Invoked by – The Lok Sabha Speaker, when time constraints prevent full discussion.

Anti-dumping duties
- Dumping – It is a process where a company exports a product at a price lower than the price it normally charges in its home market.
- Anti-dumping duty – It is a protectionist tariff that a domestic government imposes on foreign imports that it believes are priced below fair market value.

- Regulated by – World Trade Organisation (WTO).
- Anti-dumping probes – Conducted by countries to determine whether domestic industries have been hurt because of a surge in cheap imports.

India is participating in the multinational anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercise ‘Sea Dragon 2026’ held in Guam (U.S. island territory in the Western Pacific).
- Ex. Sea Dragon – It is a US Navy-led, multinational & anti-submarine warfare (ASW) training exercise.
- Participants – The exercise brings together forces from Australia, Japan, India and New Zealand.
- Aim – It aimed at enhancing coordination and combat readiness in undersea warfare.
- Focus – It is an anti‑submarine warfare (ASW) training, progressing from simulated targets to tracking a live submarine.

India launches anti-dumping probe into ethyl chloroformate imports from China
- It is a colourless liquid with a pungent odour with the chemical formula ClCO2CH2CH3.
- Risk – It is a corrosive, highly toxic, flammable substance.
- It causes severe burns when it comes in contact with the eyes and/or skin, and can be harmful if swallowed or inhaled.
- Applications – It is widely used in pharmaceutical, agrochemical manufacturing & organic synthesis.
