Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan

  • Launched by – Ministry of Ayush, Started on 9th Ayurveda Day.
  • Objective – To raise awareness about Prakriti (Ayurvedic body constitution) and encourage citizens to assess their Prakriti for better health management.
  • Assessments conducted via – A dedicated mobile app, developed with logic from CSIR–IGIB, based on Ayurveda principles.
  • Integrated with – Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
  • Key Achievements
    • Citizens Assessed – Over 1.40 crore (14 million+) Indians aged 18+ have participated.
    • Volunteers – Around 1.85 lakh volunteers including students, teachers, Ayurveda practitioners, and medical officers supported the campaign.

Ayushman Arogya Mandir

  • Operationalized by – Ministry of Ayush under the National Ayush Mission (NAM).
  • Aim – To provide a holistic wellness model based on Ayurveda, including Prakriti Parikshan.
  • Current status – About 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are functional across India.

e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project (MMP)

  • Implemented under – Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
  • Aim – To strengthen transparency, efficiency, and accountability in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) through digital tools.
  • Key Initiatives
  • eGramSwaraj Portal & App – Launched in 2020.
    • Digital planning, accounting, monitoring, and online payments.
    • It integrates with PFMS ensures real-time vendor payments and smooth fund flow.
    • it enables online uploading of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs).
  • Other Applications
    • Meri Panchayat – Citizen access to Panchayat plans and progress.
    • Panchayat NIRNAY – Transparent Gram Sabha meeting management.
    • AuditOnline – Online auditing of Panchayat accounts, especially for Finance Commission grants.
    • SabhaSaar – AI-enabled transcription and summarisation of meetings.

FraudPro

Shortlisted as a Top Finalist at the prestigious Global Mobile (Glomo) Awards.

  • Developed by – C-DOT, India’s premier telecom R&D center.
  • Objective – To detect fraudulent mobile connections by using AI, ML, and facial deduplication.
  • Capabilities include
    • Large-scale image deduplication.
    • Forged document detection.
    • Re-verification of identities.
  • Installation – Deployed in India via the Digital Intelligence Platform and Sancharsaathi portal.
  • Award category – Best Network Security and Fraud Prevention.

Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026

  • MWC 2026 – It is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile and technology industry.
  • Held at – Fira Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.
  • Organised by – Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA),
  • Theme – “The IQ Era”, highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence and connectivity to drive smarter networks, business innovation and societal impact.

Gynandromorphy

A freshwater crab (Vela carli) in Silent Valley National Park, Kerala, was found exhibiting both male and female traits simultaneously.

  • Gynandromorphy is a rare biological condition where a single organism displays both male and female characteristics, often split across different parts of its body.
  • Meaning – From Greek gyne = woman, aner = man, morphe = form) refers to organisms that are part male and part female.
  • Commonly observed in – Insects like butterflies, bees, and fruit flies, but has also been reported in crustaceans and other species.

Celebrating the Power of Vaccines

  • Key Highlights
  • Historic Successes – India has eradicated smallpox, polio, and maternal & neonatal tetanus through vaccination.
  • New Milestones (2026) – Launched HPV vaccine and an indigenous Td vaccine, expanding protection further.
  • Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP)
    • One of the largest in the world.
    • Reaches 2.9 crore pregnant women and 2.54 crore newborns annually, free of cost.
  • Coverage Growth – Full immunisation coverage rose from 62% in 2015 to 98.4% in Jan 2026.
  • Zero-Dose Reduction – Share of children with no vaccine doses dropped from 0.11% in 2023 to 0.06% in 2024.

  • Pi Day – 1st celebrated in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw at the Exploratorium, San Francisco.
  • Officially recognized in the U.S. in 2009.

International Mathematics Day

  • Observed annually on – 14th March.
  • Declared in – 2019 by UNESCO.
  • Theme for 2026 – “Mathematics and hope” — highlighting math as a universal tool for progress, trust, and resilience.
  • Objective – To promotes awareness of mathematics’ role in science, technology, and solving global challenges.
