- Yamuna – The second-largest tributary of the Ganges and the longest tributary in India.
Geographic Course & Basin
- Origin – Rises at an elevation of about 4,500 meters from the Bandarpunch peaks in the Lower Himalayas.
- Tributaries – Major tributaries in the plains include the Hindon, Chambal, Sind, Betwa, and Ken.
- Basin – It drains an area of 366,223 square kilometers and creates the highly fertile alluvial Yamuna-Ganges Doab region.

- Mandated to – Promote software exports, nurture startups, and implement STP/EHTP (Electronic Hardware Technology Park) schemes.
- Encourages – nurturing pan India start-up ecosystem through its initiatives like Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) & Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS).

Udyam Registration Portal
- Launched by – the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME),
- Purpose – to simplify the registration process for small businesses.
Features
- 100% Digital & Free – A paperless, self-declaration-based portal with zero registration fees.
- Official MSME Identity – Mandatory to obtain the permanent 16-digit Udyam Registration Number (URN); replaced the old Udyog Aadhaar.
- Auto-Data Sync – Integrated with Income Tax (PAN) and GSTIN systems to automatically verify investment and turnover details.

Mindanao (Philippines)
Recently, a 7.8 – magnitude quake strikes the southern Philippines.
- The Philippines is an archipelagic nation in Southeast Asia composed of 7,641 islands.

Recently, the Vishakhapatnam steel plant accident claimed over 8 lives and leaves several others injured.
- It is a premier "Navratna" Public Sector Enterprise situated on the coast of the Bay of Bengal, in Andhra Pradesh state.

- Significance – India's first shore-based integrated steel plant.
- It plays a vital role in national infrastructure, supplying high-quality "long products" for bridges, metros, and nuclear complexes.
- Shore-Based Advantage – Its location drastically reduces logistical costs for importing raw materials (like coking coal) and exporting finished products.

Jhajjar-Bachauli Wildlife Sanctuary
Rupnagar’s newly renamed Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Wildlife Sanctuary is set for eco-tourism overhaul as Punjab’s first dedicated wildlife viewing destination.
- Location – Rupnagar District, Punjab (near Anandpur Sahib and Nangal).
- Area – Spans roughly 289 acres.
- The Punjab government recently renamed it to honor the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
- Wildlife – Leopards, sambar, barking deer, wild boars, jackals, and pangolins.
- Reptiles & Birds – Pythons, cobras, and diverse migratory birds.
- Tourism & Safari Development – It is projected to be the first destination in the state where visitors can safely experience leopards and other Shivalik wildlife up-close.

Gallantry awards
During the Defence Investiture Ceremony, President conferred gallantry awards to personnel from the Armed Forces, State/UT police for their exceptional courage.
- Gallantry awards in India are prestigious honors presented by the Government of India to recognize acts of bravery, courage, and self-sacrifice.
- They are divided into two primary categories:
- Wartime gallantry awards (for bravery in the face of the enemy)
- Param Vir Chakra (PVC) – India's highest military decoration, awarded for the most conspicuous bravery and pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice in the presence of the enemy.
- Maha Vir Chakra (MVC) – The second-highest
- Vir Chakra – The third highest
